Smokey Bones Closes Utica and Grand Rapids Locations Amid Corporate Restructuring |
Smokey Bones, a well-known barbecue restaurant chain, has permanently closed its locations in Utica and Grand Rapids, Michigan.
These closures are part of a broader strategy by the chain's parent company, Twin Hospitality Group Inc., to shutter underperforming sites and rebrand others.
As a result, the only remaining Smokey Bones in Michigan is now in Lansing.
In a recent statement, Twin Hospitality Group announced plans to close 15 underperforming Smokey Bones locations nationwide, with 10 already closed and five more slated for closure by the end of the fiscal third quarter.
The company also intends to convert 19 existing Smokey Bones restaurants into Twin Peaks sports bars, a brand known for its lodge-style atmosphere and extensive beer selection.
These strategic moves aim to enhance the company's financial performance and streamline operations.
For residents of Utica and Grand Rapids, the closures mark the end of a local dining option that had been part of their communities.
As the restaurant landscape continues to evolve, patrons may look forward to new dining experiences that could emerge in these vacated spaces.
For those still craving Smokey Bones' signature barbecue, the Lansing location remains open and ready to serve. |
