Michigan's Favorite Halloween Candy: A Sweet Surprise

Discover the top treat Michiganders are craving this spooky season

As Halloween approaches, Michigan residents are stocking up on their favorite candies to delight trick-or-treaters.

Recent data reveals a shift in the state's confectionery preferences.

According to a study by CandyStore.com, Starburst has emerged as Michigan's most popular Halloween candy, dethroning the long-reigning candy corn.

In previous years, candy corn held the top spot, but in 2023, it was surpassed by Starburst, with candy corn now ranking second and Butterfinger coming in third.

Interestingly, a separate analysis by DoorDash indicates that Twizzlers are the most ordered Halloween candy in Michigan this year.

This suggests that while Starburst leads in overall popularity, Twizzlers are a top choice for delivery orders.

Nationally, the candy landscape is also evolving.

For the first time, M&M's have overtaken Reese's Peanut Butter Cups as the top Halloween candy in the United States.

This shift reflects changing tastes and the enduring appeal of classic, colorful candies.

As Michiganders prepare for Halloween festivities, it's clear that fruity and chewy treats are taking center stage.

Whether you're handing out Starburst, Twizzlers, or sticking with traditional candy corn, there's no shortage of sweet options to satisfy every ghost and goblin this season.
