Shut Up and Train in Beverly Hills fosters personal growth and resilience |
In the heart of Beverly Hills, Michigan, Shut Up and Train stands as more than just a fitness center; it's a sanctuary where individuals confront and overcome personal challenges.
For Alicia Trammel, the gym became a beacon during her battle with postpartum depression. "There were some days that I just, it was pretty dark. It was hard," Trammel shared. Three months into her journey, she observed significant improvements: "I've become a better mother. I've become a better partner. I've become a better employee. I work full-time on top of everything else."
At the helm is Heba Jawad, whose personal experiences fuel her commitment to others. Raised in Dearborn within a Lebanese American household, Jawad faced cultural resistance to her passion for boxing. "My dad just felt like it was a masculine sport," she recalled. Despite this, she pursued athletics, excelling in high school sports with aspirations for the WNBA. However, injuries redirected her path, leading her to become an athletic trainer with nearly 18 years of experience before founding Shut Up and Train.
Jawad's dedication resonates deeply with members like Trammel, who credits her transformation to Jawad's guidance: "Honestly, she's changed my life."
The gym's influence extends beyond individual stories. Members Brooke Beerer, Connor Hibbard, and Griffin Lorenz commend the supportive environment Jawad has cultivated. Hibbard noted, "What she's built, it's fantastic," while Lorenz added, "She's tough. She gets the job done."
Reflecting on her journey, Jawad emphasizes resilience: "If you fall, get back up and fight stronger. And if you fall again, get back up and fight stronger. Because the road doesn't end, and time doesn't stop for anybody. And if you're going to do something, you have to do it for yourself."
Shut Up and Train welcomes individuals of all ages and fitness levels, with a grand opening event planned in the near future. |
