MANS Lumber & Home Celebrates 125 Years as a Metro Detroit Pillar |
A Legacy of Building and Community Service Since 1900 |
MANS Lumber & Home commemorates its 125th anniversary, marking over a century of dedicated service to the Metro Detroit community.
Founded in 1900 by Nick Mans, the company began as N.A. MANS, supplying coal and building materials to the Trenton area.
Over the decades, it has evolved into a comprehensive provider of lumber and home improvement services, embodying the family mantra to "leave it better than you found it."
Throughout its history, MANS Lumber & Home has navigated significant challenges, including the Great Depression, the 1980s' high lending rates, the 2008 housing crisis, and the recent global pandemic.
Despite these obstacles, the company has remained steadfast, expanding its reach and services.
In recent years, MANS has strategically grown through acquisitions, including Dillman & Upton in 2021, the builder and contractor division of Kurtis Kitchen & Bath in 2024, and Michigan Timber & Truss later that same year.
These additions have enhanced the company's capabilities and reinforced its commitment to quality and customer service.
To honor this milestone, MANS Lumber & Home hosted a celebration at Eastern Market's Shed 3, bringing together over 1,200 guests, including employees, customers, and community members.
The event featured live music, culinary stations, and exhibits highlighting the company's rich history.
Looking ahead, the Mans family remains dedicated to their mission of building and serving the community.
As Doug Mans, President of MANS Lumber & Home, reflects, "We have a lot to be thankful for, and 2025 will be an entire year of giving back and giving thanks."
With a legacy spanning 125 years, MANS Lumber & Home continues to be a cornerstone of Metro Detroit, committed to excellence and community engagement. |
